As we start to plan our 2026 Revolutionary War Veteran/Patriot Memorial Programs

DAR Ceremony Honoring Revolutionary War Patriot Japhet Byram

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will host a commemorative ceremony honoring Revolutionary War patriot Japhet Byram on Saturday, April 18, at the First Presbyterian Church graveyard.

Japhet Byram, along with his younger brother Jephthah Byram, was among the founding families of Byram Township. The township itself is named in recognition of the Byram family’s lasting impact on the region’s history.

The Byram Township Historical Society is proud to participate in and support this event as part of its ongoing 250th Anniversary commemorations. In addition to co-sponsorship, the Society will assist with online promotion and community outreach to help ensure a meaningful and well-attended tribute.

All are welcome to attend and join in honoring the legacy of one of the area’s early patriots.
