During the year 2023, the “Township of Lakes” is celebrating the 225th Anniversary of the establishment of Byram Township. The Byram Township Historical Society created the Byram Township 225th Anniversary Committee to bring various organizations within Byram Township and adjoining municipalities together to plan events that are to be held during 2023 to celebrate our past, herald our future, and promote tourism in our local region. As the gateway to the Sussex Skylands and with its breadth of outdoor activities, the celebration will provide a platform to generate a broader, long lasting magnet for visiting and enjoying Byram Township’s and Sussex County’s history, hospitality, and the fun and healthy benefits of the natural wonders that our area provides.

The Byram Township Historical Society is seeking volunteers. The Society is operated by volunteers who have a passion for genealogy and the history of Byram Township. There are a number of ways you can assists us such as; events personnel, research, cataloguing photos, etc.
